The Team Poker structure allows teams to consist of one individual player. It is possible to set a Team Poker structure as example in a tournament where the team size is 2 players minimum and 4 maximum, such that one player can play. This option can be handed in Team Poker by allow the on individual player to start with twice the number of starting chips and then have a Finish Equalization Number (FEN) of 2. Some gaming commissions do not allow poker players to start with more chips, and the Team Poker structure is flexible to handle this and still allow one individual to play in the Team Poker tournament.
As such a similar Team Poker structure could be used when it is not allowed for players to start with more chips. When this situation happens the individual can be given an automatic add-on. This add-on could be provided when the players chips are at 50% of their starting chip stack amount. Only teams consisting of one individual player would be offer an add-on. There are other more complex ways to handle this Team Poker situation, but this would be the prefered. The Team Poker FEN would be the same as if 2 players were actually completing. Thus, this Team Poker format would allow for a mathematical equalization of the team finish position. The individual finish position in Team poker would be multiplied by 2 for individuals playing alone as a team of 1 in the example of a 2 minimum-4 maximum Team Poker structure. |
